Herald Real Estate Achievement & Leadership awards names Steven Krieger and B2K Development the Power Developer of the Year. The award come on the heels of near completion of The Boardwalk and The Breeze, spanning 740 feet of beach and boardwalk in Long Beach, NY.

Jan Burman Accepts Large Business Achievement Award from the HIA, 2022

HIA-LI Recognizes Business Excellence – For the past 28 years, the Hauppauge Industrial Association (HIA) has recognized and celebrated the best of Long Island Business in the following 4 categories: Large Business, Small Business, Not-for-Profit, & Rookie of the Year. This year Jan Burman accepted the Large Business Award on behalf of his firm. “We truly believe in the power of what we do. This, in part, is what makes winning the large business award this evening so special. It’s a testament to the work that we have put in over the last twenty plus years, and it’s wonderful to be recognized for our achievements,” said Burman during his acceptance speech.

Steven Krieger Appointed President of Long Island Builder’s Institute, 2022

New officers and board members for Long Island Builders Institute: The Long Island Builders Institute, the state’s largest trade association for residential builders and related businesses, announced a new roster of officers and board members for 2022.  Tritec Real Estate principal Jim Coughlan has been named LIBI’s chairman of the board and Steven Krieger of B2K Development becomes president.  “On behalf of the entire membership of LIBI, we are honored to have these outstanding members of the Long Island real estate community provide us with their time, talent, and expertise for our organization,” Mitch Pally, LIBI CEO said in a written statement. “It has been and will continue to be a great opportunity for these individuals to lead both LIBI and the real estate community in the years ahead.”

Jonathan Weiss knew he wanted to be a builder his whole life. As a young boy, he spent most Saturdays with his grandfather on construction sites. To date, he has led over 30 projects and has been involved with over a billion dollars of new construction. Jonathan is a Builder Director of the Long Island Builders Institute and an Officer and Director of Long Island Home Builders Care. Through LIHBC Jonathan helped run fundraising events, served on the annual Charitable Walk committee, chaired the annual golf outing, and headed up special projects.

David Burman: Commercial Property Executive’s Stars to Watch, 2019

CPE’s Stars to Watch 2019: Assisted Living Leader David Burman was probably destined for a real estate career. “From day one, since I was a kid, I always wanted to do this,” he said. These days, Burman helps run B2K Development, a fast-growing development firm that currently has 12 projects valued at more than $1 billion under construction, with another 10 projects on the horizon for 2019-2020. Working alongside his father, Burman oversees all aspects of strategic development, including deal analysis, site selection, land acquisitions, project planning, municipal approvals, architecture, design and pre-construction. For Burman, a partner at the firm since 2003, the appeal of real estate is all about creating things. “I love designing the buildings; I like fitting square pegs in round holes,” he said. “It’s creating something from nothing, taking a vacant piece of land and repurposing it into something that helps people.”

Jan Burman Named the Ernst & Young Family Business Industry Entrepreneur of the Year, 2014

Mr. Jan Burman, president of B2K Development, has been named the 2014 Ernst & Young Family Business Industry Entrepreneur of the Year for the New York Region. The award, which celebrates America’s most innovative business leaders, is one of the nation’s most prestigious business award programs. It recognizes entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, risk, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. “I am genuinely honored to be presented with this award and I would like to thank the judges for their decision and my father for providing me with the work ethic that has guided me throughout my career,” said Jan Burman. He founded Engel Burman with Sydney Engel and Steven Krieger. Together, they entitled and built several thousand homes on Long Island, bought several million square feet of industrial buildings in North Carolina and Virginia, and founded The Bristal Assisted Living communities.
