Building Excellence: Jon Weiss Earns Crain’s Leadership Recognition

B2K Development is proud to announce that Principal and President of Construction Jon Weiss has been recognized as one of Crain’s New York Business’ Notable Leaders in Architecture, Engineering, & Construction.

This prestigious distinction honors professionals who are shaping the built environment across New York through exceptional leadership, innovation, and industry influence. The individuals selected by Crain’s represent the very best in their fields, driving transformative developments, leading high-performing teams, and making meaningful contributions to the communities they serve.

Weiss has played a pivotal role in B2K’s continued growth and success, overseeing nearly half a billion dollars in active construction while managing a team of 120 construction professionals and coordinating efforts of more than 500 trade employees each day. His hands-on leadership spans every stage of development, from pre-construction planning through build completion, ensuring that every project is delivered with the highest standards of quality, safety, and accountability.

A Career-Defining Achievement

Jon Weiss of B2K Construction Named Crain's New York Business Notable Leader

Among Weiss’ many accomplishments, one stands out as a defining milestone: the $350 million transformation of a six-acre site along Long Beach’s iconic boardwalk.

Vacant for more than 40 years, the property was reimagined into a vibrant destination featuring luxury residences and retail spaces that have helped energize the surrounding community. The undertaking required extraordinary coordination, bringing together 75 construction companies and more than 500 workers while navigating weather challenges, supply chain disruptions, and extensive stakeholder engagement.

Under Weiss’ leadership, the Long Beach Superblock – The Breeze and The Boardwalk – was delivered successfully, demonstrating the expertise, perseverance, and collaborative approach that have become hallmarks of B2K’s Construction division.

Leadership Beyond the Jobsite

Weiss’ impact extends well beyond the projects he oversees. As President of the Long Island Builders Institute (LIBI), he advocates for the advancement of the building industry and works to address critical housing and development issues throughout the region. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Long Island Home Builders Care, helping lead charitable initiatives that strengthen local communities and support families need.

In addition, Weiss and his wife have been longtime supporters of Cycle for Survival, contributing to fundraising efforts that have generated more than $4 million for rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Well-Deserved Recognition

Being named a Crain’s New York Business’ Notable Leader in Architecture, Engineering, & Construction reflects not only Weiss’ professional accomplishments, but also his unwavering commitment to leadership, mentorship, community service, and excellence in construction.
