Jan Burman honored with ABLI Lifetime Achievement Award

Jan Burman, Chairman

Jan brings a distinctive blend of vision, discipline, and personal sensitivity to his leadership at B2K Development and across a diverse portfolio of real estate and related businesses. Known for his ability to identify overlooked opportunities and anticipate emerging market trends, he has consistently created long-term value for partners and stakeholders through the adaptive reuse of underutilized assets, innovative development strategies, and the cultivation of thriving, diverse communities.

With an MBA in Finance from Syracuse University, Jan began his career as a CPA before transitioning into real estate, where he built a track record of transforming foreclosed and corporate-surplus properties into millions of square feet of successful multi-tenant assets. Over time, he expanded into residential real estate, leading B2K Development’s growth into a large-scale portfolio of diversified housing.

Jan is perhaps best known for elevating standards within the assisted living sector through the founding of The Bristal Assisted Living, where he helped introduce a new model of high-quality, care-focused, amenity-rich communities. Today, The Bristal is widely recognized as a leading brand in the industry.

In addition to his real estate achievements, Jan is a Founder and Principal of the Wellbridge Alcohol & Drug Addiction Rehabilitation Center in a collaborative partnership with Northwell Health reflecting his commitment to addressing critical healthcare needs through thoughtful, purpose-driven development.

Deeply engaged in both business and philanthropic efforts, Jan has served on numerous boards and continues to contribute his time and leadership to organizations including the United Nations Development Corporation, St. Francis Hospital, the Community Development Corporation of Long Island, and the Nassau County Police Department Foundation Advisory Board. His contributions have been widely recognized, including being named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, his induction into the Long Island Business News Hall of Fame, and, in 2024, receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for a Better Long Island (ABLI) and the Commercial and Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island (CIBS-LI).
